NEXX Helmets was founded in 2001 by Hélder Loureiro. Located in Portugal, NEXX is one of the few remaining helmet brands manufactured in Europe. Loureiro quit his job at another helmet company to work on his own brand full time. The goal is to mesh high-tech components and safety, with a unique and recognizable design. Early prototypes lead to the release of the X.10 and X.20 in 2002. By 2009 they had helmets for more types of riding. This included the well known XR1.R, a sporty helmet for motorcycle racing. Since then the line has expanded, and offers helmets for nearly every type of riding. It doesn't matter if you're cruising around a city on a scooter, or speeding around a racetrack, NEXX has a helmet for you. In 2018 there was a major setback. A factory fire in their carbon fiber production facility, located in Anadia, Portugal, destroyed pavilion 3. This caused severe production and delivery delays. Today NEXX is back, and stronger than ever. Their helmets are available in over 60 countries. They remain on the cutting edge of helmet technology and styling.
